Welcome to Curio

A theme built for stores where every item is one of one — graded, measured, and traceable.

Curio is a Shopify theme for resale, vintage, consignment, and refurbished stores. It is built around the things those stores have to say that a general-purpose theme has no room for: what condition an item is in, how big it is, where it came from, and the fact that when it sells there will never be another one.

The storefront is styled as a working stock ledger — numbered lots, punched price tags, stamped condition grades, ruled measurement tables, a receipt-style cart, and an archive of sold finds. None of it is decoration you have to feed. Every ledger element disappears when you have not supplied its data, so a store with nothing configured still looks deliberate: sharp, flat, monospace-and-grotesque minimal.

Start in this order#

  1. Install and publish — add the theme, set your logo, menus, and colors, then publish.
  2. Set up the metafields — about ten minutes in your Shopify admin. This is what unlocks condition stamps, measurements, and provenance notes.
  3. Build your home page — the signature sections, in the order that tends to work.
  4. Tune the theme settings — colors, type, badges, and the switches that dial the ledger styling up or down.

If you have a store to migrate and only fifteen minutes, do steps 1 and 2. Everything else is reversible and can wait.

Two ideas worth knowing up front#

Nothing is invented for you. Curio never writes a condition grade, a trust claim, or an urgency message on your behalf. Grades are your words. Stock counters read real tracked inventory and print no number when inventory is untracked. The countdown counts to one date you set and then stops — it has no repeat mode. If a badge or a claim is on your storefront, you typed it.

One-of-one is a first-class state. When a product has exactly one item in stock with inventory tracking on, the quantity selector is replaced by the line “This is the only one.” When it sells, you can keep it published and let it become part of a sold archive instead of a dead end.
